Equinor has signed a framework agreement with Aker Solutions for maintenance and modifications services at the Campos basin Peregrino field, offshore Brazil. The contract has a fixed period of 4 years and includes an option for a 2-year extension.

The value of the agreement depends on the amount of work requested, the service provider said.

Peregrino lies 85 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in water depths around 100 m. It is estimated to contain 400 million bbl of recoverable oil. The field includes two fixed platforms (WHP-A and WHP-B) and a floating production storage and offloading unit. The platforms are connected to the FPSO via flow lines and electrical umbilicals. Equinor has completed 39 production wells and seven water injector wells between both platforms and has increased the recovery rate to 16% from 10%. Peregrino Phase II will access new acreage out of reach of its current two wellhead platforms through the addition of a third fixed wellhead platform.
