MP GOM has let a 5-year contract to BW Offshore for the lease and operation of the BW Pioneer FPSO vessel on Cascade and Chinook fields on Walker Ridge Block 249 about 165 miles off Louisiana.
MP Gulf of Mexico LLC (MP GOM) has let a 5-year contract to BW Offshore for the lease and operation of the BW Pioneer floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel on Cascade and Chinook fields on Walker Ridge Block 249 in the US Gulf of Mexico about 165 miles off Louisiana (OGJ Online, Sept. 12, 2012). The firm period begins in direct continuation of the current contract and lasts until March 2025 with a 5-year option to extend.
BW Pioneer has a capacity to process 80,000 b/d of oil and 16 MMcfd of gas with storage capacity of 600,000 bbl.
MP GOM is a partnership between Murphy Exploration & Production Co.– USA (Murphy EXPRO) and Petrobras America Inc. With 80% ownership in MP GOM, Murphy EXPRO serves as operator.
