Santos Ltd. loaded the first crude oil cargo from the Pikka phase 1 development on Alaska’s North Slope.

The inaugural cargo of 450,000 bbl of Alaska North Slope crude was loaded aboard the Polar Resolution at the Valdez Marine Terminal and is destined for the US West Coast refining system.

Twenty-eight development wells have been drilled in the first phase of the Pikka project (21 stimulated and flowed back in line with pre-drill expectations), which, once completed, will consist of 45 wells operated from a single drilling platform, a seawater treatment plant, a remote operations center, and associated pipelines that connect to the existing infrastructure in the area.

Initiating production in May, Pikka's Phase 1 is currently producing about 23,000 bo/d, building toward an anticipated plateau production of about 80,000 bo/d during third-quarter 2026.

Santos operates the Pikka Unit 51% interest. Repsol SA holds the remaining 49%.
