bp lets EPCI contract for Tiber development
bp has let an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to SLB OneSubsea for a subsea boosting system for the Tiber project in deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
Tiber-Guadalupe, which lies about 300 miles southwest of New Orleans in the Keathley Canyon area, is bp’s seventh operated oil and gas production hub in the Gulf of Mexico. It will utilize a new floating production platform with the capacity to produce 80,000 b/d of crude oil. The FPU will be based more than 85% on Kaskida's FPU design. The OneSubsea joint venture was previously awarded a subsea boosting system contract by bp for Kaskida’s development.
Tiber-Guadalupe includes six wells in Tiber field and a two-well tieback from Guadalupe field. The fields are estimated to hold recoverable resources of around 350 MMboe from the initial phase.
bp is operator of Tiber with 100% ownership.
