TotalEnergies has let an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract to TechnipFMC for its Lapa North East deep water field development in the presalt Santos basin offshore Sao Paulo, Brazil.
TechnipFMC will reconfigure and install umbilicals and flexible pipe in a new configuration that will further secure production of the field, it said in a release Sept. 14. The service provider values the contract at $75-250 million.
“By offering the flexibility of a phased campaign, we are helping TotalEnergies accelerate its schedule and begin production sooner,” said Jonathan Landes, president, subsea, at TechnipFMC.
Lapa oil and gas field, in Block BM-S-9A in water depth of 2,150 m, began production in December 2016 via the Cidade de Caraguatatuba FPSO. In the first half of 2021, its production averaged 50,700 boe/d.
Consortium partners are Total E&P do Brasil Ltda. 35% (operator), Shell Brasil Petroleo Ltda. 30%, Repsol Sinopec Brasil SA 25%, and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) 10%.
