ExxonMobil authorizes Uaru subsea contract

ExxonMobil Guyana authorized Saipem SPA to proceed with the final phase of the UARU oil field development project in Stabroek block, offshore Guyana, per a contractual agreement announced on Dec. 15, 2022, the service provider said in a release May 5 (OGJ Online, Dec. 15, 2022).   

The final phase of the awarded scope of work includes the design, fabrication, and installation of subsea structures, risers, flowlines, and umbilicals for a large subsea production installation. Saipem will perform the operations using vessels FDS2 and Saipem Constellation. 

Saipem has begun detailed engineering and procurement in accordance with the terms of the original award.

Saipem was previously awarded four other subsea contracts by ExxonMobil Guyana for developments in the same area, namely Liza Phase 1 and 2, Payara, and Yellowtail.
