ADX Energy Ltd. has been awarded a production license by Austria’s Ministry of Finance for development of Anshof oil field in the ADX-AT-II exploration license, Upper Austria.
The production license provides the field’s developmental regulatory framework which includes drilling of Anshof-2 and Anshof-1 wells in third-quarter 2023.
A long-term production test begun in October 2022 from Eocene oil reservoirs at the Anshof-3 well showed insignificant pressure decline after cumulative production of about 10,000 bbl. Production is restricted to an average rate of 113 bo/d due to onsite storage capacity and limitation on truck movements. Oil is transported to a nearby terminal for final processing and delivery by rail to the OMV refinery near Vienna. Production is expected to increase to about 150 b/d once capacity is increased in second-quarter 2023.
Eocene oil produced from Anshof is high-quality (33° API) sweet crude with low sulfur content. Estimated 2P reserves are 5.2 MMboe.
