Tullow well offshore Suriname finds ‘only minor oil shows’

Tullow Oil PLC and partners will plug the Goliathberg-Voltzberg North exploration well, drilled in Block 47, offshore Suriname, then assess the data gathered and consider next steps (OGJ Online, Jan. 27, 2021). The well reached total depth and encountered good quality reservoir but only minor oil shows.

The Stena Forth drillship drilled the well to 5,060 m in 1,856 m of water.

Tullow is the operator of Block 47 with a 50% stake. Petroandina Resources Corp. NV (Pluspetrol) holds 30% with Ratio Suriname Ltd. holding the remaining 20%.
