Phillips 66 lets contract to support UK carbon capture project

Phillips 66 Ltd. has let a contract to Babcock & Wilcox’s environmental segment to design a flue gas pre-treatment technology upstream from a planned carbon dioxide (CO₂) capture system on the Humber refinery’s fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) in North Lincolnshire, UK.

Phillips 66’s Humber refinery carbon capture plans are part of the Humber Zero project, a world-scale carbon reduction project that aims to capture up to 8 million tonnes/year of CO₂ by 2030.
