bp Australia, along with Macquarie Capital, has begun a feasibility study into the production of green hydrogen at its former Kwinana oil refinery site south of Perth in Western Australia.

The study is part of BP’s broader plans to repurpose its Kwinana site as an integrated energy hub that produces and distributes “fuel for the future.”

The company is advancing plans to develop a renewable fuels plant at the site, producing sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel.

The plans are supported by funding from the Western Australian Government.
