Lukoil started production from the third well in second-phase development of Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea at an initial rate of 3,200 tonnes/day of oil.

The well has a 3,795-m main wellbore and a 3,762-m lateral.

The development phase includes six production and two injection wells. Lukoil drilled a production well and an injector earlier this year (OGJ Online, Feb. 1, 2018).

The development phase will sustain field production at a plateau rate of 6 million tonnes/year, achieved after start-up of the new well.

Flow from Vladimir Filanovsky field, in 7-11 m of water 220 km off Astrakhan, Russia, began in 2016.
