ConocoPhillips gains consent to start Eldfisk Nord

ConocoPhillips has been granted consent to start up Eldfisk Nord in the Norwegian North Sea.

ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS has been granted consent by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate to start up Eldfisk Nord in production license (PL) 018, Block 2/7, in part of the Greater Ekofisk Area of the North Sea. Start-up is expected during first-quarter 2024.

Eldfisk Nord, targeting additional resources in Eldfisk field, consists of two seabed templates for production and one for water injection with a total of nine production wells and five injection wells (OGJ Online, Nov. 27, 2023).  

Resource potential is projected to be 50-90 million bbl of oil. The investment amounts to nearly $1.24 billion.

ConocoPhillips is operator at PL 018 with 35.221% interest. Parnters are Petroro AS (5%), Sval Energu AS (7.604%), TotalEnergies EP Norge AS (39.896%), and Vår Energi ASA (12.388%).
