Noble Energy EG Ltd., a Chevron subsidiary, achieved first gas flow from the Alen natural gas development project offshore Equatorial Guinea (OGJ Online, Apr. 2, 2019).

The project consists of a 70-km pipeline with a capacity of 950 MMcfed that allows gas from Alen field in the Douala basin to be processed through onshore existing facilities.

The Alen development is one step towards creating an offshore natural gas hub in Equatorial Guinea, which could open the potential for future monetization of additional discovered resources through existing infrastructure, the company said.

Gas will be processed through Alba Plant LLC’s liquefied petroleum gas plant and EGLNG’s LNG plant at Punta Europa, Bioko Island.
