BW Energy Ltd. made a final investment decision to drill in the Bourdon development of the Dussafu license offshore Gabon and will start a new infill well campaign in the Golfinho license offshore Brazil.

The two sanctioned projects increase BW Energy’s net production target by about 10% to more than 100,000 bo/d in 2028. The combined total 2P reserves estimate from the projects is 68 MMboe.

Bourdon

Bourdon Phase 1 includes 25 MMboe in gross 2P reserves which are about 100% oil. First oil is expected in first-quarter 2028. The Akoum rig (former Jasmine Alpha) will be converted to a new wellhead platform with a 12-slot wellbay.

Initial production will come from three wells. Future phases have the potential to add about 200 MMboe additional oil in place near Bourdon, the company said.

The Dussafu Marin permit lies in the Ruche Exclusive Exploitation Area (Ruche EEA), covers 850 sq km, and includes six discovered oil fields as well as leads and prospects in a proven oil and gas play fairway within Southern Gabon basin.

BW Energy is operator of the Dussafu license (73.5%) with partners Panoro (17.5%) and Gabon Oil Co. (GOC, 9.0%).

Golfinho

New Golfinho wells will access 50 MMboe in 2P reserves of which 42% is oil and 58% is gas. First oil is expected by end-2028. Golfinho field lies in Espírito Santo basin offshore Brazil in 800-1,700 m of water.

The campaign will include four new wells (three in the Golfinho license, one in the Camarupim license) in proven locations to be tied back to the Golfinho FPSO, the company said. Production will tie in to the existing gas export pipeline from the FPSO to shore. The campaign is expected to triple production from the Golfinho area to about 30,000 bo/d beginning in 2029.

BW Energy is operator (100%) of the Golfinho license.
