Statoil ASA has canceled its contract with Songa Offshore for the Songa Trym semisubmersible drilling rig.

The rig was one of several for which Statoil suspended contracts last year but has received other assignments, most recently drilling a well in Visund oil and gas field (OGJ Online, Dec. 5, 2014).

The contract was to have expired next March.
