Kuwait Energy Egypt has spudded the ASD-3 development well in the Abu Sennan license, 7 km north of the producing Al Jahraa field in Egypt's Western Desert, partner United Oil & Gas plc said in a release Apr. 4.

The well will be drilled to a total depth of 3,649 m about 1.2 km northwest of the ASD-2 well, which was drilled in March 2022 and has recovered about 400,000 bbl since it came online just over a year ago (OGJ Online, Mar. 15, 2022).

ASD-3 has primary targets in the Abu Roash-E (ARE) and Abu Roash-C (ARC) reservoirs, as well as secondary objectives in the Lower Bahariya. The well is expected to take about 55 days to drill and complete.
