TotalEnergies lets Danish North Sea rig contract to Maersk Drilling

TotalEnergies has let a drilling contract to Maersk Drilling Co. for the Maersk Reacher jack up rig for well intervention services in the Danish North Sea.

TotalEnergies has let a drilling contract to Maersk Drilling Co. for the Maersk Reacher jack up rig for well intervention services in the Danish North Sea.

The contract is expected to start in July with a duration of 21 months. The contract includes options to extend the duration by up to 27 months.

Maersk Reacher was delivered in 2009. It is currently operating offshore Norway where it is scheduled to be replaced in a rig swap with Maersk Integrator by early March 2022. Maersk Reacher will undergo a special periodic survey prior to commencing the contract with TotalEnergies.

TotalEnergies operates the Dan-Halfdan and Gorm-Tyra offshore fields via the Danish Underground Consortium (DUC) joint venture of TotalEnergies (43.2 %), Norwegian Energy Co. ASA (36.8 %), and Nordsøfonden (20%). TotalEnergies is responsible for exploration and operation of DUC’s 15 producing fields.
