FERC office issues horizontal directional drilling guidance

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Energy Projects Office has issued fresh Final Guidance for Horizontal Directional Drill Monitoring, Inadvertent Return Response, and Contingency Plans, it announced on Oct. 9.

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Energy Projects Office has issued fresh Final Guidance for Horizontal Directional Drill Monitoring, Inadvertent Return Response, and Contingency Plans, it announced on Oct. 9.

The new guidance addresses comments the office received to draft horizontal direction drilling guidance it released early including natural gas pipeline companies, engineering consulting firms, trade organizations, environmental interest groups, and state environmental departments, the FERC office’s staff said.
