Gas flow starts from Bahr Essalam Phase 2

Mellitah Oil & Gas, a 50-50 joint venture of Eni and National Oil Corp. of Libya, started production from the first well in Phase 2 development of offshore Bahr Essalam gas field (OGJ Online, June 3, 2016).

Eni said two more wells would start soon followed by a further seven wells by October.

Phase-2 development adds potential production of 400 MMscfd of natural gas, bringing the field total to 1.1 bscfd.

Bahr Essalam, 120 km northwest of Tripoli in 623 ft of water, produces through the Sabratha platform to the Mellitah onshore treatment plant.
