Trillion Energy International Inc. recompleted the West Akcakoca-1 gas well at SASB gas field, offshore Turkey, resulting in increased production.

The West Akcakoca well's two lower “D” sands with a combined total of 7 m of natural gas pay were originally perforated on Mar. 24 (OGJ Online, Mar. 29, 2023). A total of 6 m in two additional gas bearing intervals, 3,561.5 to 3,564.5 m MD and 3,498.5 to 3,501.5 m MD, were perforated and put onto production at about 5.3 MMcf/d and with a final buildup pressure of 1,794 psi.

The new perforations were performed with wireline on the platform and did not require the drilling rig. These new perforations are the start of Trillion Energy’s plans to maximize gas production from new wells.

Trillion Energy is 49% owner of the Black Sea SASB natural gas field.
