Equinor ASA will use the COSL Promoter semi-submersible drilling rig for production drilling on Statfjord Øst field in the Tampen area in the North Sea, 7 km northeast of Statfjord field, based on consent granted by The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA).
Water depth in the area is 150-190 m. The consent covers plugging and abandonment (P&A) activities and production well drilling on Statfjord Øst.
Equinor is operator at Statfjord Øst (43.25%) with partners Petoro AS (30%), Vår Energi AS (20.55%), Idemitsu Petroleum Norge AS (4.8%), and Wintershall Dea Norge AS (1.4%).
