Canada's rig count increased by 14 rigs to 117 rotary rigs working this week. That compares with 77 rigs working at this time a year ago. Canada’s gas rig count decreased by 3 units to hit 45, while the oil rig count increased by 17 to 72.
US drilling activity remained unchanged this week at 727 rotary rigs working. Last year at this time, 456 rigs were working. In the US this week, 574 rigs were drilling for oil and 151 were drilling for gas.
Operations offshore, in inland waters, and on land were all unchanged this week.
