Magellan Midstream Partners LP, Tulsa, has launched an open season to gauge interest in an expansion of the western leg of its Magellan South System in Texas.
Expansion of the products pipeline would create additional capacity from Frost, Tex., to the Abilene, Midland-Odessa, and El Paso regions, with further optionality to access New Mexico and Arizona, as well as international markets in Mexico via connections to other pipelines owned by Magellan and third parties.
An expansion could increase capacity to 140,000 b/d from its current 100,000 b/d, and subject to permits and approvals, could be operational by mid-2020.
The open season runs until May 9.
