The College of Petroleum Engineering & Geosciences (CPG) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, invites applications for faculty positions at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the following areas:
1. Computational Modeling & Simulation
The Department of Petroleum Engineering seeks a distinguished scholar with expertise in computational approaches for reservoir engineering. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Fluid flow and contaminant transport in porous media
- Reservoir simulation and history matching
- Field development optimization
- Geostatistical reservoir characterization
- Welltest analysis
Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong research program and publish in high-impact journals
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses
- Supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students
- Contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary research
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering (or related field)
- Proven record of high-quality research and publications
- Experience in teaching and graduate supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Industry experience is an asset

2. Energy Sustainability
We also invite applications for a faculty position in Energy Sustainability within Petroleum Engineering. The successful candidate will advance our reputation in cutting-edge research, innovative teaching, and industry-focused solutions.
Areas of interest include:
- Hydrogen, energy storage, and distribution systems
- Sustainable exploitation and utilization of resources
- Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS)
- Application of AI and machine learning in decarbonization
- Geothermal resources and production technologies
- Circular economy approaches to energy systems
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow research programs in sustainable energy
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and design new curricula
- Supervise student research and theses
- Collaborate with industry to address energy challenges in KSA
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline
- Strong research record in sustainable and emerging energy systems
- Experience with graduate student supervision
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Industry experience is a plus
