SABIC taps Jacobs for olefins plant work

Saudi Basic Industries Corp. has let a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for the upgrade of its 670,000-tonne/year Olefins 4 plant in Geleen, Netherlands.

Saudi Basic Industries Corp. has let a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for the upgrade of its 670,000-tonne/year Olefins 4 plant in Geleen, Netherlands.

Jacobs will perform “numerous modifications” to the naphtha cracker to increase energy efficiency and boost ethylene production capacity.

The new capacity wasn’t immediately available.
