Shell Global Solutions International BV has let a contract to a subsidiary of Foster Wheeler’s Global Engineering and Construction Group to develop the basic engineering package for a monoethylene glycol plant at Ras Laffan, Qatar (OGJ Online, Dec. 21, 2010).
The 1.5 million tonne/year, two-train plant will be part of a complex under development by a joint venture of Qatar Petroleum and Shell. It will use Shell’s proprietary OMEGA process.
