Valves and fittings showed the greatest cost increase, rising to 2,457.2 in fourth- quarter 2014 from 2,314.1 during first-quarter 2012.

Three other items experienced more modest increases. In fourth-quarter 2014, non-metallic building materials rose to1,215.7 from an index of 1,128.8 in first-quarter 2012. During the same 36-month span, tanks and pressure vessels increased to 1,187.9 from 1,143.4. Fractionating towers showed a 46-point index gain over the 3-year period, rising to 1,467.8 in late 2014 from 1,421.4 in early 2012.

Tube stills decreased 695.1 during the final quarter of 2014 from 719.0 in first-quarter 2012.

The final category, bubble trays, experienced moderate gains during 2012-14, increasing to 1839.2 in fourth-quarter 2014 from an index of 1,827.3 in first-quarter 2012.
