QP to install gas sweetening, sulfur and NGL recovery

Qatar Petroleum has awarded a $600 million contract to Petrofac to install gas sweetening facilities in Qatar’s Messaieed and Dukhan industrial districts.

-- Qatar Petroleum has awarded a $600 million contract to Petrofac to install gas sweetening facilities in Qatar’s Messaieed and Dukhan industrial districts.

Included are engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of gas sweetening along with a sulfur-recovery upgrade at NGL-3 in Messaieed and an acid-gas recovery plant at Arab-D in Dukhan.

Petrofac will begin work shortly and targets completion within 38 months.
