Liaoning lets contract for polyethylene plant

Liaoning Huajin Chemicals has let a contract to Technip for basic engineering design and precommissioning support for a polyethylene plant to be built in Panjin, China.

HOUSTON, July 10 -- Liaoning Huajin Chemicals has let a contract to Technip for basic engineering design and precommissioning support for a polyethylene plant to be built in Panjin, China.

Contract details were not disclosed.

The plant will be based on Ineos Group Holdings Inc.'s Innovene S technology and will produce 300,000 tonnes/year of high-density polyethylene.

The plant is scheduled for completion at yearend 2008 and is to be commissioned in March 2009.
