Oman will use a gasoline sulfur reduction process owned by Axens for its FCC gasoline, said Axens, an affiliate of Institut Français du Pétrole.

BP PLC has awarded Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. a 5-year contract for an emissions reduction program at its 400,000 b/d Texas City, Tex., refinery. Terms were not disclosed.

Spanish utility Union Fenosa has awarded SN Technigaz, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bouygues Offshore Inc., a contract to build two liquefied natural gas tanks in Damietta, Egypt. The tanks are for the LNG plant Union Fenosa is building, due to be in operation in midyear 2004 (OGJ Online, Dec. 1, 2000).

Petroleos de Venezuela SA has awarded Ivensys Process Systems, part of Invensys PLC, a contract for an online optimization system for its 335,000 b/d Refineria Isla in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles. Terms were not disclosed.

High Plains Corp. has upgraded its ethanol production facility in York, Neb., by one-third to 50 million gal/year.
