HOUSTON, May 28 -- Shell Oil Products US and Motiva Enterprises LLC, the companies that market the Shell brand of gasoline in the US, are converting more than 100 Texaco stations in New York City and the surrounding areas to the Shell brand. The action, part of the largest brand conversion in US business history, is planned for completion by the end of the year, Shell said.
The acquisition and conversion of Texaco stations, which followed Chevron's merger with Texaco, came as part of an agreement to allow the Chevron-Texaco merger to proceed. Shell will spend approximately $530 million to convert thousands of stations across the US to the Shell brand.
