HOUSTON, Sept. 29 -- Greece's Motor Oil Hellas has awarded Axens IFP Group Technologies of France the contract to supply a new mild hydrocracker at its Corinth refinery in Greece.

The 37,000 b/sd unit will process a mixture of vacuum gas oils, furfural extract, and slack wax to produce a low-sulfur feedstock for the existing fluid catalytic cracker.

The new plant is based on a proprietary hydroprocessing method that directly produces diesel containing less than 10 ppm sulfur.

The project will afford a complete upgrading of motor fuels production at the Corinth refinery.
