HOUSTON, Oct. 18 -- Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (ENPPI), Cairo, has awarded a contract to Prosernat IFP Group Technologies to supply a molecular sieve gas dehydration package for the United Gas Derivatives Co. (UGDC) $300 million natural gas liquids extraction plant at Port Saïd, on Egypt's Mediterranean coast.

UGDC, a consortium company with Egyptian Natural Gas Co. unit GASCO, BP PLC, and AGIP SPA, will operate the NGL plant, which will produce commercial propane, ethane (for the petrochemical industry), sales gas, LPG, and condensates.

The Prosernat dehydration package, to be delivered in mid-2003, will treat 1,100 MMscfd of natural gas and will be the largest molecular sieve dehydration unit ever built in Egypt, Prosernat said. The plant will produce about 330,000 tons/year of LPG, 280,000 tons of propane, and 1 million bbl of condensate, as well as ethane.
