Mitsui signs EPC contract for NGL extraction plant in Oman

Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Tokyo, has signed a $700-million engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a 670 MMscfd NGL extraction plant in Fahud, Oman.

Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Tokyo, has signed a $700-million engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a 670 MMscfd NGL extraction plant in Fahud, Oman.

The plant will be built 300 km south of Oman’s Sohar Industrial Port Area. Mitsui said the turnkey project has a 43-month timeline and is part of the Liwa Plastics Project (OGJ Online, Aug. 7, 2014).

GS Engineering & Construction Corp. is Mitsui’s consortium partner in the contract with Oman Oil Refineries & Petroleum Industries Co. ORPIC Plastics LLC is the project company.
