HOUSTON, May 26 -- AGE Refining Inc., an independent, 10,000 b/d refiner based in San Antonio, has begun offering a 20:80 mixture of soybean-based biodiesel and diesel fuel.

Age Refining said it is the first to offer the blend at the refinery rack in Texas. The state has reduced its fuel excise tax from 20¢/gal to 16¢/gal to encourage use of "B20" biodiesel fuel.

Gulf Hydrocarbon Inc., Houston, will produce the biodiesel.
