Venture Global, Atlantic-SEE expand LNG supply deal

The expanded agreement will see Venture Global double its supply of US LNG to Atlantic–SEE LNG beginning in 2030.

Venture Global Inc. and Atlantic– SEE LNG Trade SA of Greece have expanded an existing agreement under which Venture Global will supply LNG to Atlantic-SEE for a 20-year period beginning in 2030.

Under the deal, Atlantic-SEE is doubling its contract from a minimum of 0.5 million tonnes/year (tpy) to 1.0 million tpy, increasing supply to Central and Eastern Europe.

Atlantic-SEE LNG is a joint venture between Greek companies AKTOR Group and DEPA Commercial.

The expanded supply agreement follows Venture Global’s previously announced investment in regasification capacity at Gastrade SA’s Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal in Greece—which currently accounts for about 25% of the terminal’s total capacity—to supply US LNG to the region.

The Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System (INGS) consists of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) offshore Alexandroupolis, and a 28-km high-pressure pipeline connecting the unit to the Greek National Natural Gas Transmission System.

Designed to enhance energy security, supply diversification and regional market integration, the terminal enables northbound natural gas flows through the Vertical Gas Corridor to Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, and Ukraine in the east, Hungary and Slovakia in the west.
