Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Sempra, has agreed to a long-term LNG supply deal with EQT Corp.
Through a 20-year definitive sales and purchase agreement (SPA), Sempra will supply 2 million tonnes/year (tpy) of LNG from the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 development project in Jefferson County, Tex., to EQT on a free-on-board basis at a price indexed to Henry Hub.
Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 is expected to include two liquefaction trains capable of producing about 13 million tpy of LNG, which could increase the total liquefaction capacity of the Port Arthur LNG plant to about 26 million tpy from the 13 million tpy proposed for the first phase of development.
Port Arthur LNG Phase 1, which is currently under construction, is expected to achieve commercial operations in 2027 and 2028 for trains 1 and 2, respectively.
Phase 2 development has already attracted interest from prospective LNG buyers. In July 2025, Sempra Infrastructure signed a 20-year agreement to supply JERA Co. Inc. with 1.5 million tpy of LNG offtake.
Earlier this month, Sempra Infrastructure signed a 20-year agreement with ConocoPhillips for 4 million tpy of LNG offtake from the proposed project.
Sempra Infrastructure continues to target making a final investment decision on the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in 2025.
