Deutsche ReGas GMBH & Co. KGaA’s Deutsche Ostsee LNG terminal expansion in the port of Mukran has received its operating permit from the State Agency for Agriculture and Environment of Western Pomerania. The Mukran terminal will bring total Deutsche Ostsee regasification capacity to 13.5 billion cu m/year, joining a 5.2-bcmy terminal already operating in Lubmin.

Regasified LNG will travel through the recently completed 50-km Ostsee-Anbindungsleitung connecting pipeline (OGJ Online, Feb. 14, 2024) to the 90-bcmy EUGAL/OPAL and 20-bcmy NEL pipeline networks for shipment to eastern Germany, eastern Europe, and industrial locations in southwest Germany.

Deutsche Ostsee will use the 174,000-cu m floating storage and regasification unit Energos Power, which arrived on location in February 2024. Energos Infrastructure bought Energos Power and its sister ship, Energos Force from Dynagas LNG Partners LP the previous month.
