UTM awards Nigerian FLNG FEED to JGC-Technip partnership

UTM Offshore has awarded JGC Corp. in partnership with Technip Energies, the FEED contract for a 1.2-million tpy FLNG plant at Yoho field in Block OML 204 offshore Nigeria.

UTM Offshore Ltd. has awarded JGC Corp. in partnership with Technip Energies, the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for a 1.2-million tonne/year (tpy) floating LNG (FLNG) plant at Yoho field in offshore Block OML 204, operated by ExxonMobil Corp. in partnership with Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. Ltd. The plant, expected to be completed in 2026, will also produce LPG and condensate.

JGC will be primarily responsible for topside design while Technip will handle hull and mooring system design. FEED completion is expected by December 2023, with engineering, procurement, and construction expected to follow.

UTM last year awarded the project’s conceptual design services contract to JGC. It also awarded KBR Inc. an owner’s engineers contract (OGJ Online, May 21, 2021).

The project will be Nigeria’s first FLNG plant
