New Fortress Louisiana FLNG application certified complete

New Fortress Energy has received US Coast Guard and Maritime Administration affirmation of the completeness of its application for a deepwater port license for the 2.8-million tonne/year Louisiana FLNG plant.

New Fortress Energy (NFE) Inc. has received US Coast Guard (USGC) and Maritime Administration (MARAD) affirmation of the completeness of its application for a deepwater port license for the 2.8-million tonne/year Louisiana FLNG plant. NFE will begin preparation of an environmental impact statement as part of the plant’s environmental review within the 356-day prescribed window.

NFE’s application proposes the ownership, construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning of an offshore natural gas export floating LNG (FLNG) plant in Federal waters 16 nautical miles off the southeast coast of Grand Isle, La., in water depths of 30 m.

NFE filed its application last month (OGJ Online, Mar. 31, 2022).
