Venture Global LNG Inc. has begun installing liquefaction equipment at its 10-million tonne/year (tpy) Calcasieu Pass LNG plant in Cameron Parish, La. The company received and has begun setting in place two Chart Industries Inc. brazed aluminum heat exchangers, the first of 18 that will be part of the plant’s liquefaction process system.

Calcasieu Pass will use eighteen 0.6-million tpy, modular liquefaction trains, fabricated in Italy by Baker Hughes and configured in nine blocks. The plant will also include two berths capable of loading vessels up to 185,000 cu m and two 200,000-cu m full-containment LNG storage tanks. The 42-in. OD, 24-mile TransCameron pipeline will transport gas from Grand Cheniere station to the plant.

Venture Global elevated the roof for the second of the two storage tanks in May (OGJ Online, May 20, 2020).

The company expects to complete construction in 2022.
