El Paso awards Willbros Cameron Highway onshore, marsh pipeline sections

El Paso Energy Partners unit El Paso Field Services awarded Willbros RPI, both of Houston, a contract to construct about 30 miles of 24-in. oil pipeline onshore to Port Neches, Tex., and the marsh portions of its 380-mile Cameron Highway Oil Pipeline System from deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON, Mar. 29 -- El Paso Energy Partners unit El Paso Field Services awarded Willbros RPI, both of Houston, a contract to construct about 30 miles of onshore and marsh portions of a 24-in. oil pipeline in the Port Neches, Tex., area.

The project is a section of the 380-mile Cameron Highway Oil Pipeline System that will deliver up to 500,000 b/d of oil from deepwater production sites in the southern Green Canyon and western Gulf of Mexico areas to onshore Texas terminals in Texas City and Port Neches.

Willbros expects to complete the project in the second quarter.
