HOUSTON, July 11 -- Iroquois Gas Transmission Systems L P has completed the 34-mile, 24-in., marine section of its Eastchester Extension pipeline in New York.

Horizon Offshore Contractors Inc., Houston, installed the pipeline from Northport, Long Island to Hunt's Point, NY, using a new pipeline burial plow that provides minimal disturbance to areas around the pipeline compared with typical jetting or predredging marine installation methods. The system also uses forward and backward looking SONAR and a separate set of plowshares providing trench backfilling when required.
