Statoil lets three pipeline contracts for Johan Sverdrup

Statoil ASA has let three contracts totaling 2.5 billion kroner for the oil and natural gas pipelines for the Johan Sverdrup development in the Norwegian North Sea.

Statoil ASA has let three contracts totaling 2.5 billion kroner for the oil and natural gas pipelines for the Johan Sverdrup development in the Norwegian North Sea (OGJ Online, Sept. 14, 2015).

Mitsui & Co. Norway AS was awarded the line pipe fabrication contract for the pipelines and is expected to deliver 220,000 tonnes of steel to cover 430 km.

Wasco Coatings Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. was awarded the contract for external anticorrosion treatment and concrete weight coating for the pipelines, as well as internal flow coating for the gas pipeline.

Saipem Ltd. was let the contract for pipelay, which is scheduled to start in 2018.

Oil will be piped to the Mongstad terminal and gas will be piped to the Karsto terminal.
