Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America has started up 30 in. pipeline segments in southern Oklahoma and northeastern Texas that will facilitate movement of larger gas volumes out of the Anadarko basin. NGPL's $100 million, 350 MMcfd, bidirectional A/G Line went into service Feb. 2 on a limited basis.

Throughput can increase to design level with completion of a 9,200 hp compressor station in Carter County, Okla. Completion is expected within a few weeks.

The project links NGPL's Amarillo and Gulf Coast pipelines.

The Oklahoma segment runs 97 miles from NGPL's Oklahoma Triangle pipeline network through Carter, Murray, Johnston, and Bryan counties to the north end of an existing 39 mile pipeline owned by NGPL that crosses the Oklahoma-Texas line.

The Texas segment extends through Lamar, Red River, Franklin, Titus, Morris, and Cass counties. It joins the south end of the 39 mile line to NGPL's Gulf Coast main line.

NGPL has been transporting gas mainly through western Oklahoma to Midwest markets and delivering volumes to pipelines that serve the West Coast.

The new pipeline will enable NGPL to move more gas eastward for increased shipments to the Midwest and pipelines that serve the East Coast.

NGPL has about 500 receipt points in Oklahoma.
