WhiteWater Midstream and MPLX LP have completed a 1.8-bcfd expansion of their joint venture Agua Blanca natural gas pipeline system.

WhiteWater Midstream and MPLX LP have completed a 1.8-bcfd expansion of their joint venture Agua Blanca natural gas pipeline system. Testing and commissioning of the expansion will begin this month, and the system is expected to be brought into full service early 2021.

The Agua Blanca system is connected to gas processing sites in Delaware basin and is currently transporting gas produced in Culberson, Loving, Reeves, Pecos, Winkler, and Ward Counties, Tex., and Eddy and Lea Counties, NM, to the Waha hub. The Agua Blanca expansion includes a 42-in. OD trunk line that more than doubles system capacity to more than 3 bcfd.

WhiteWater is also a partner with MPLX in the 2-bcfd Whistler transmission pipeline project, which will carry gas from the Permian basin to Agua Dulce hub near Corpus Christi, Tex. Whistler secured $325 million of construction funding earlier this year and is targeting a third-quarter 2021 in-service date (OGJ Online, June 26, 2020).
