Moda Midstream LLC has placed into service the final 495,000-bbl tank of its 10-million bbl crude oil expansion at the Moda Ingleside Energy Center (MIEC) in Ingleside, Tex., and the Moda Taft Terminal in Taft, Tex. The completion of this storage expansion brings total storage capacity at MIEC and Moda Taft to about 12 million bbl.

Construction has begun at MIEC on a new 3.5-million bbl expansion. Moda expects to begin placing storage tanks from this expansion into service later in 2020. MIEC will have total storage capacity in excess of 15.5 million bbl upon completion of the additional expansion.

Moda also has obtained permits to build additional crude oil storage capacity at both MIEC and the Moda Taft Terminal and is discussing further expansions with customers.

MIEC has direct connectivity to roughly 2.5 million b/d of Permian and Eagle Ford crude supply from four long-haul pipelines. Two of these pipelines, the Gray Oak pipeline and the Epic Crude Oil pipeline, recently commenced full service. MIEC also will be able to receive deliveries from Harvest Midstream Co.’s Ingleside pipeline, currently under construction and expected to be placed in service later in 2020.
