Williams named president, US region at Baker Hughes

Williams

Richard Williams has been named president, US Region of Baker Hughes Inc. His responsibilities include overseeing the US Land region and the Gulf of Mexico geomarket. Williams previously served as the president, Gulf of Mexico Region. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in his 37 years with Baker Hughes. Williams earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix and an associate's degree from Lincoln College. He is on the board of directors of The Center for Offshore Safety and the National Ocean Industries Association.

Marathon Oil makes executive appointments

Marathon Oil Corp. has elected Sylvia J. Kerrigan as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, and Lance W. Robertson as vice president, Eagle Ford Production Operations. Previously, Kerrigan served as vice president, general counsel and secretary, and Robertson as regional vice president, South Texas/Eagle Ford. Kerrigan joined Marathon Oil in 1995 and was named vice president and general counsel in September 2009, and secretary in November 2009. Prior to that, she served as assistant general counsel for Litigation, Human Resources and Environmental Law. In addition to her work at Marathon Oil, Kerrigan worked at the United Nations Security Council's Commission d'Indemnisation in Geneva, Switzerland (UNCC) for two years, and was in private practice for five years. She holds a bachelor's degree from Southwestern University, and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas. Robertson joined Marathon Oil in October of 2011 and since then has been responsible for all of the company's operations in the Eagle Ford. He earned a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Prior to joining Marathon Oil, Robertson served as vice president of Operations - Eagle Ford Asset Team for Pioneer Natural Resources.

Ainsworth to succeed Conner as CEO of Oiltanking Partners

Oiltanking Partners LP has selected Anne-Marie Ainsworth to succeed Carlin Conner as president and CEO of its general partner. Ainsworth will also serve on the board of directors of Oiltanking's general partner. Carlin Conner has assumed the role of managing director of Oiltanking GmbH and joined the executive board of Marquard & Bahls AG. Conner will remain chairman of the board of the general partner of the partnership. A refining industry veteran with 34 years of experience, Ainsworth was most recently senior vice president of Sunoco Refining. Ainsworth holds a master's degree in business administration from Rice University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo.

Lucas Energy appoints new CFO

Lucas Energy Inc. has appointed Anthony C. Schnur as CFO, treasurer, and secretary. The new appointment was at the request of the current CFO, Andrew Lai, who has stepped down due to family medical issues. Current plans are for Lai to remain with Lucas in another capacity. Schnur has served as CFO and CEO of several companies including his last position as CFO of Chroma Oil & Gas LP. Schnur has more than 25 years of experience, with 15 years in the oil and gas industry. Schnur has served on the Board of Directors of two E&P companies. He holds a BSBA from Gannon University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

API names Marathon Oil's Cazalot as chairman

Marathon Oil Corp. chairman, president and CEO Clarence P. Cazalot, Jr. has been elected chairman of the American Petroleum Institute's (API) Board of Directors effective January 1, 2013, for a one-year term. Cazalot succeeds Chevron president and CEO John S. Watson. "Clarence Cazalot is one of our industry's ablest and hardworking leaders," said API president and CEO Jack Gerard. "His vision, experience and drive will be major assets in API's public policy work in the coming year. We appreciate John Watson's dedicated service and many contributions over the past year and look forward to working with Clarence in 2013." Cazalot joined Marathon Oil in March 2000, following his service as vice president of Texaco Inc. and president of Texaco's Worldwide Production Operations. Cazalot graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor's degree. In May 2007, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Louisiana State University. He serves on various corporate and association Boards of Directors including Baker Hughes, the API, and the Greater Houston Partnership.

Recovery Energy makes executive appointments

Denver-based Recovery Energy Inc., an independent oil and gas exploration and production company with operations and assets in the Denver-Julesburg (DJ) Basin, has appointed W. Phillip Marcum to the position of chairman of the board and CEO and A. Bradley Gabbard to the position of president. Gabbard will also continue in his current role as the company's CFO. Marcum, an energy industry executive with nearly four decades of comprehensive senior level management experience joined the board of directors in September of 2011 and became Lead Director in October 2012. Marcum co-founded Metretek Technologies Inc. in 1991, which later became PowerSecure International Inc. and served as its chairman, president and CEO until 2007. His career includes serving as head of energy corporate finance of Boettcher & Company/Kemper Insurance Co. and serving as a senior officer, including chairman, president and CEO, of MGF Oil Corp. Marcum currently serves on the boards of Key Energy Services Inc. and ADA-ES Inc.

Kirksey resigns as Endeavour CFO

Endeavour International Corp.'s executive vice president and CFO, J. Michael Kirksey, submitted his resignation, effective October 29, in order to spend more time in other areas of interest. Kirksey led the company's financial activities for 5 years. The company has engaged SpencerStuart to begin the search process for a new CFO.

Sharma to chair South West Asia ops for Lloyd's Register

Lloyd's Register has appointed R. S. Sharma, the former chairman and managing director (CMD) of India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), as chairman of operations for South West Asia. During his 56-month tenure as CMD of ONGC, Sharma greatly improved the multinational's operating performance, while emphasising the importance of ethical practices and strong corporate governance. In 2007, ONGC became the first Indian corporate to be listed as one of Fortune's Most Admired Companies.

Energy industry executive, Nifong, joins Ernst & Young

Craig Nifong joined Ernst & Young LLP's Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice on November 5. Nifong is an executive director based in the Houston office. He brings more than 25 years in the energy field, including experience in risk management along with regulatory and operational knowledge surrounding the use and trading of commodity spot and derivative contracts.

Nifong most recently served as vice president and trade control officer at Occidental Energy Marketing Inc. Prior to that position, he led strategic analysis and planning as well as risk and structuring at RRI Energy Inc. Nifong received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University.

Global Geophysical Services names White as CEO

Geoscience and engineering solutions provider Global Geophysical Services Inc. has named Richard White as its new president and CEO. White previously served as president of Western Geophysical, CEO of Veritas DGC, and CEO of NuTec Energy. Richard Degner will continue to serve as non-executive chairman of the board of Global and also as president of Autoseis Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Global. Global Geophysical Services, headquartered in Houston, TX, provides an integrated suite of geoscience and engineering solutions to the global oil and gas industry.

HollyFrontier's Clifton to retire, Jennings assumes chairman role

Dallas-based HollyFrontier Corp. has announced the retirement of executive chairman Matthew Clifton effective Jan. 1, 2013. Clifton has more than 30 years of service with the company. Clifton also currently serves as, and will continue to serve as, the chairman and CEO of Holly Logistic Services LLC, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company and the general partner of HEP Logistics Holdings LP, which is the general partner of Holly Energy Partners LP. The company is very appreciative of Matt's 30-plus years of leadership and service to HollyFrontier and its predecessors," said Michael Jennings, president and CEO of HollyFrontier.

England to lead Deloitte's oil and gas sector

England

John England has been named the new leader for Deloitte's oil and gas sector in the United States, part of the organization's energy and resources industry practice. England will be responsible for strategic oversight of all Deloitte's professional services work for a wide range of oil and gas companies. England has nearly two decades of experience with Deloitte. Most notably, he has served as its audit and enterprise risk services industry leader for energy in the United States – and has held a similar global role. England has experience leading Deloitte's global capital markets team for energy, and has served as the Deloitte & Touche LLP lead relationship partner for various oil and gas companies. He holds a BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He assumes his new position from Gary Adams, who will now focus all of his efforts on serving as the Deloitte Consulting LLP global lead client service principal for a premier international oil and gas company. Adams led Deloitte's national oil and gas sector for the past five years.

ExxonMobil senior VP to retire after 36 years

Donald D. Humphreys, senior vice president and principal financial officer of Exxon Mobil Corp., will retire from the company on February 1, 2013, after more than 36 years of service. Humphreys has been a member of the corporation's management committee since January 2006. In addition to his financial management role, he has also been responsible for ExxonMobil's fuels, lubricants and specialties marketing and global services operations. Humphreys joined Exxon Chemical Company in August 1976 and had several assignments in Houston, Baton Rouge and Baytown before becoming senior financial advisor at Exxon Corp. in New York. He held positions with Exxon Company International and was upstream controller of Exxon Company USA. He was financial director of Exxon companies in Malaysia and was assistant treasurer of Exxon Corp., where he later was elected vice president and controller. Humphreys was named vice president and controller of Exxon Mobil Corp. in 1999 and later elected vice president and treasurer. Humphreys holds a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Northern Petroleum makes board appointments

London-based Northern Petroleum has appointed Nick Morgan and Keith Bush to the board of directors.Morgan, who becomes finance director, earned a degree from Exeter University, trained with Price Waterhouse and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has over 13 years experience in investment banking with a focus upon advising the international oil exploration and production industry. He was more recently employed with Tristone Capital Ltd. then GMP Securities Europe LLP. Bush joined Northern in May as COO. He earned a degree from Manchester University and has over 20 years oil industry experience. Bush has held managerial positions in Amerada Hess, Burlington Resources and was most recently employed as general manager operations for E.On Ruhrgas in Norway. Chris Foss continues as a director assisting in the development of the company's activities.

Poskey appointed CFO of Allied Energy

Allied Energy Inc. has appointed Kenneth L. Poskey as CFO of the company. Poskey, who replaces interim CFO, Gene Kamarasy, will be in charge of all accounting, finance and compliance functions of the Company. Poskey has over 25 years of experience in the finance and accounting industries and has extensive experience in various aspects of the oil and gas industry including audit, tax, financial accounting, project management, systems design and business development. He has designed reporting systems, improved division of interest functions for revenue and joint interest expense, sold gas on daily spot markets and built the customer base of a new pipeline transportation venture. Poskey was previously employed by the company as a consultant to perform internal auditing and accounting services.

MRMC makes management changes

Martin Resource Management Corp. (MRMC), owner of the general partner of Martin Midstream Partners LP, has made management changes effective November 9, 2012. Donald R. Neumeyer, formerly president of Cross Oil Refining & Marketing Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRMC and executive vice president of the companies has elected to retire after 30 years of service. Neumeyer's planned retirement comes after having served MMLP as COO and in other business development roles during his career. Concurrent with Neumeyer's retirement, the companies have appointed Douglas Towns as vice president to assume the majority of Neumeyer's responsibilities. Towns has over 15 years of experience in the lubricants business having been previously employed by several major oil companies. Most recently, Towns served as general manager of Koch Sulfur Products Co. He holds a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University and a MBA from the University of Houston. Martin Midstream Partners is a publicly traded limited partnership with a diverse set of operations focused primarily in the United States Gulf Coast region.

NGP announces organizational changes

NGP Capital Resources Co. senior vice president R. Kelly Plato is leaving the company to pursue other business opportunities. Hans Hubbard and Chris Ryals have each been promoted to the position of managing director. Hubbard and Ryals have been members of the company's investment team since its inception and have extensive backgrounds in energy-based lending.

Tungesvik succeeds Bacher as president, Statoil Canada

Statoil ASA has named Stale Tungesvik president of the company's Canadian operations. He replaces Lars Christian Bacher who has been appointed executive vice president for Statoil's Development and Production International. As president of Statoil Canada, Tungesvik is responsible for development and production activities both within oil sands in Alberta and offshore Canada. ungesvik has almost 30 years of industry experience. He previously served as senior vice president for renewable energy in Statoil. Since joining Statoil in 1991, Tungesvik has served in a number of leadership positions at Statoil.
