HOUSTON, Feb. 2
– Petroceltic International PLC, Dublin, submitted a discovery declaration to Algeria’s Sonatrach for the Issaouane North West accumulation on the Isarene Block in the Illizi basin of east-central Algeria.

The INW-2 well tested gas at the rate of 16.7 MMscfd, natural, and 33.6 b/d of condensate with 347.5 psig flowing wellhead pressure on a 96/64-in. choke from Devonian F2. TD is 2,124 m. It is the highest gas flow rate recorded from a single Devonian zone in the basin to date, Petroceltic said.

The Ordovician secondary objective had no reservoirs with effective permeability.

Issaouane North West is the fourth structure Petroceltic has tested at a potentially commercial rate on the Isarene permit. The others are Ain Tsila field, Hassi Tab Tab field, and ISAS field.
