Colorado

HOUSTON, May 10 – Energas Resources Inc., Oklahoma City, plans to drill the 1,280-acre Lake Devore prospect in southeastern Colorado’s Stateline Trend.
The first well, in Kiowa County, is projected to 5,200 ft or the Pennsylvanian Morrow formation in a complex of fields along the Colorado-Kansas state line (see map, OGJ, Oct. 10, 1994, p. 86).
The project geologist used conventional exploration methods. The geologist also used an ethane magnitude map similar to that used by Axem Resources Corp. and Murfin Drilling Co. to locate Morrow wells in Moore-Johnson field with 90% success. The geologist also used a proprietary electromagnetic technique that agreed with the ethane magnitude map on locating the first well.
